Sometimes you just cannot predict what’s going to turn up on your doorstep. One thing we’ve learnt here at T-LD is that you’ve never seen it all. This Rolls Royce belongs to radio personality Kyle Sandilands, and it’s matte black vinyl wrap has opinions divided.

There’s probably less than ten Rolls Royce Phantoms on Australian shores. These $1-million+ ultra luxury cars are not for everyone. Kyle bought his new in Charcoal Grey, but didn’t think much of it.

An initial face lift turned the car Gloss White, but that only lasted three weeks before Kyle changed his mind again “because it looked like a wedding car,” and chose the Matte Black finish you see here.

Both times the car’s colour was changed using vinyl wrap. This process is cheaper than a respray, protects the original paintwork and is reversible. Perfect if you keep changing your mind about the colour.

The current look is from 3M’s Designer Wrap Series 1080 and was applied over a five day period by the guys at PRO Vinyl.

Whether you like the way the outside looks or not, there’s no denying what lies under the hood; a 6.75-litre V12 making 338kW of power and 720Nm of torque. It’s enough to get all three tonnes of Rolls moving at 100km/h in 5.8 seconds. Just goes to show that you never know what they’ll think of next.

Opinions on the car are divided, just as they are on the owner himself. Let us know what you think and what you would’ve done differently in the fields below if this million dollar Rolls Royce was home to your garage.
