The 2010 World Time Attack Challenge was hailed as one of the best Automotive events of last year. In its relatively short history, it has quickly influenced commercial motorsport in Australia. With this years open class entries being filled out in merely four hours, we’re sure that the World Time Attack Challenge alongside the Tectaloy International Drift Challenge is set to be even bigger and better. As we anticipate further announcements leading up to the event, we decided to dig through the archives and bring you these new wallpapers. Re-live some high moments and admire the competitors from last years event; all downloadable straight to your desktop!
Pictured above in tilt shift is content that we’ve been sitting on since last years event – from left to right is the Advan/Hi Octane Racing R34, Cyber Evo, Tomei/Cusco WRX and Hi-Octane R32 GT-R. Confirmed pro-class competitors for this year include the Scorch Racing S15, Advan/Hi Octane Racing R34, Hankook Carbon WRX, Sierra Sierra Evo, Garage Revolution RX-7 and Cyber Evo, which makes a return to defend its title as champion.
Putting down a lap time of 1:30:59 last year, Cyber Evo’s competitors have some serious preparation to do. This image was shot on one of its last laps for the day just before losing its wing.
The experienced Sierra Sierra team will be back down-under this year, after missing out on first place last year by +0:01.30. They’ve got their eyes set on the main prize once again. Will they topple the Cyber Evo and place first?
The sun sets over Eastern Creek as driver Tarzan Yamada steers the Tomei/Cusco WRX to third place, whilst also landing first place in the Cyber Evo.
The R-Magic RX-7 was forced into an early retirement in last years run. It’s currently unknown whether either the R-Magic or Panspeed RX-7 will return to our shores for this years challenge.
The Hankook Carbon WRX has been confirmed to be ready for this years World Time Attack Challenge, after being unable to make the race last year. Its also eyeing first place for its inaugural entry into Pro Class.
It’s always great to see the local teams putting out competitive times. We’re expecting this year to be bigger with many workshops and drivers preparing each division, but more on that in the upcoming months. Dubbed as the 2010 event of the year by Speedhunters, there are no limits to how far this year could potentially advance, and we’ll be there alongside all the action leading right up to this years World Time Attack Challenge. Nice post! I remember seeing Panspeed and Hi Octane head to head with Panspeed nearly being run off the track. Bring on this years event. The effect on the first image is awesome too, thanks for the new wallpaper 🙂
Thanks for reminding me why I love the Magic RX7!
Can’t wait for 2011.
