Every four years, Porsche gathers together some of their most influential race cars, renowned drivers and collector cars around the world.

At their fifth reunion held at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, one of the most dominant racecars ever constructed appeared in the pristine form of this Porsche 962.

Belonging to the Dyson Racing Group out of New York with serial number 101, this is the first of its kind to be delivered to a customer.

The 962 is borrowed off a modified 956 chassis, featuring a significantly longer wheelbase. The motor is adapted from Porsche’s early attempts at IndyCar racing from the 1980s.

Approximately 680 HP (507kW) is pumped from the 3.2 litre flat-six, sourced from a 935 motor with air-cooled cylinders and water-cooled heads.

A single Kühnle, Kopp und Kausch (KKK) AG K36 turbo is used to produce around 1.2-1.4 bars (17.4-20.3 PSI) of boost.
