Honda has touted that the new Civic Type R will have superior aerodynamics, ahead of its global debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.
The new car will be powered by a 2.0 litre direct injection VTEC TURBO engine, producing over 206kW of power with a top speed of 270km/h.
It’ll be equipped with a high performance Brembo brake package for the front wheels, developed specifically for the car. At the front, four-piston calipers will apply braking force to 350 mm drilled discs. New 19-inch alloy wheels, wrapped in Continental tyres will fill the wheel arches and accommodate the larger brakes.
Additionally, the new iteration will feature unique vents, grilles, spoilers and skirts in order to contribute towards enhanced downforce and minimised drag. A new almost completely flat underside will aid airflow under the vehicle, which will be combined with a rear diffuser to optimise downforce.
The new Civic Type R will be available down under, possibly in early 2016.
