This weekend the annual ClubITR BBQ was held a short drive from Sydney in Lane Cove National Park. This year’s gathering was held to raise both awareness and support for the ‘Cars For Hope‘ initiative. Honda enthusiasts came from across the city to have a relaxing Sunday afternoon under the sun, enjoying a lunch put on by the team of organisers.

A number of sponsors had jumped on board to show their support for the event. Prizes were kindly donated to a raffle that was drawn at the end of the day. All money raised went towards ‘Cars For Hope’.

It’s great to see such support for the ClubITR community, the turnout for the event was large for its kind with a laid-back atmosphere.

ClubITR is a forum consisting mostly of Honda owners. Recently photographer Felix Alim acquired ownership of the forum, which has seen it undergo a number of changes.

This S2000 has one of the best wheel and fitment setups we’ve seen rolling around on Sydney streets. A proper set of BBS LMs is never be a bad choice.

Above is the DC2R Integra owned by Richard Nghiem. Recently mustering a 1:10.8 around Wakefield Park at Honda Nationals, they’ll be out to go even quicker at this weeks Circuit Club event.

Artarmon Honda dealer, Scotts, brought out their demo Civic FN2R to the gathering. Flyers were being handed out for test-drives of the new Honda CR-Z. With a price point suitable for the younger demographic, we can see this being quite a hit over time.

DC2 Integra Type Rs are the popular choice amongst ClubITR members. In the background of this shot was a DC2R equipped with the rare and desirable Yellow Recaro SR3 seats.

BYP have been growing steadily over the last year. Their approach to business is to keep up good relationships with their customers. They show it through a consistent presence at events which allows the crew to stay in tune with customer’s needs and expectations.

Their EP3R above is a street car prepared in house. It makes an easy 150kW naturally aspirated.

Forum sponsors and supporters including Touge Distribution, Toda Racing, BYP, Bel Garage, JDM Yard, Go 2 Space, Pro Concept and Scotts Honda were all out with prizes to giveaway.

One lucky winner even scored himself a free Circuit Club track day.

Whilst the sponsor prizes were being handed out, others took the opportunity to get their un-supervised sugar fix.

These two DC2Rs looked fine in Championship White. It’s not hard to see why it’s such a classic Type R colour.

You’d be mistaken for thinking the image above was taken in the late 90’s when the DC2R was in its prime. The red JDM-front Integra was immaculate.

Track-influenced aero enhancements are making their way onto more street cars of late, as shown here with this Mugen wing on a DC5.

Tucked behind these Volk CE28N’s is a set of Spoon brakes; a quality combo.

Brother’s Richard and Berty both drive this DC2R on the track regularly.

CE28Ns wrapped in a set of Advan Neova AD08’s have proven to be a good combination for spirited driving.

This clean and simple CL9 Accord Euro grabbed our attention featuring Enkei RPF1’s, and notably retaining Honda center caps.

These DC5’s were congregated in one corner. Each had a different modification style so it was interesting to see them side by side.

Owner of a red DC5, Timmy, regularly makes the trek from Newcastle to Sydney for Honda meets.

Felix has held on to his white DC2R for a number of years now.

The Regamaster Evo wheels suit it perfectly. Definitely one of the most classic wheel designs of all time.

Felix made the switch from AUDM quad-light front end to the beautiful JDM face a few years ago.

The factory fitted B18C has seen plenty of love and attention with heaps of upgrades for a quality N/A build.

Another shot of the epic BBS fitment on this S2000. It’s tough to get a lot of dish in the guards of S2Ks with their ridiculous factory offsets, but that shouldn’t stop you from getting perfect stance.

‘Cars For Hope’ stickers are displayed on cars in a bid to get their message out there. By displaying a sticker you are showing your support for the initiative and helping to increase awareness.

Anodised tow hook and wheel nuts really finish off the package on this DC5.

Yet another set of Volk CE28Ns on the AP2 above – not that we’re complaining! This car was a real head-turner.

Huge carbon diffuser, subtle side skirts under the spats to match the front lip and that perfect rear wing.

Not to mention the Mugen hardtop painted to match the body.

Little details like this titanium exhaust tip poking out between bumper and diffuser topped off the car.

It’s fantastic to see these cars doubling as daily drivers on the street and track warriors on the weekend.

Cars for Hope is an initiative that began earlier this year. Run as a non-profit organisation, it aims to raise community awareness about depression, as well as information and a pathway for those in need to get help.

Owner of the website and movement, Berty Nghiem aims to achieve awareness through the car community via their website and presence at particular events.
