CAPOZZI BROTHER’S WIDEBODY S14

- Words: Mitchell Kane. Photos: MJ Digital.

Last weekend Jason and I stopped in at Magic Autoworks to check out one of Australia’s most mental Silvia’s currently in the build process. Brothers, Sergio and Claudio, share a strong passion for cars and the automotive scene, and between the two of them they have owned some wild machines.

THE-LOWDOWN.COM x JDMST EOMM

- Words: Ryan Lewis. Photos: Daniel McKenna.

Since THE-LOWDOWN.COM launched back in March, we have talked constantly about putting on an event for the Sydney community. In order to make a bit of a splash we teamed up with JDMST and put the word out. Never in our wildest dreams did we expect the reception to be so extreme. Local parts supplier, Autotechnik Tuning, hosted the event in their south western Sydney complex. While it’s usually empty on a Sunday, it filled to overflowing even before official start time, with cars lined down the street side, up on the kerb and all around the block. Somewhere in excess of 250 cars showed up to be a part of it.

Recently, the boys over at Hookitup.Co had some exciting news for Motor-ex. Just a few of days later, this 2008 Scion xB was in their hands. Sporting a 900hp World Racing built 2.7 litre 2AZ-Fe engine, 20 x 11 HRE 595R wheels and a custom widebody, this xB is one extreme show car, street car and track car!

TIME ATTACK R-MAGIC RX-7

- Words by Adam Bruce. Photography by MJ Digital.

With the World Time Attack Challenge behind us, we were able to sift through the hundreds of photos and pick out some clean shots of the R-Magic RX-7. We posted a still shot of the car a while back, and since then we’ve had a few requests to post some wallpaper size images. The car was one of our favorites at the event, and it was good to get up close and personal with it.  So after cutting a few people out, adjusting colours and removing other items, here goes, R-Magic RX-7.

ZOMAYA’S 300KW LANCER

- Article by Jason Hanif and Adam Bruce. Photography by MJ Digital.

It’s no secret that the number of people venturing out to track days is on the rise. If you attend any club track day you’re pretty much guaranteed to see an Evo hammering out quick laps. It’s completely understandable for people to be drawn to them – a simple family sedan during the week, and a menacing track warrior on the weekend. The recipe for a competitive Evo isn’t complex, and many Evo owners have walked similar paths with their cars. It takes some effort to build a really standout one. So when we saw this Evolution tearing down the straight of Eastern Creek, we knew that we had to meet the owner.

MEGUIAR’S MOTOREX 2010

- Article by Adam Bruce. Photography by MJ Digital.

For those who don’t know, Meguiar’s MotorEx is one of the largest automotive shows in Australia. The event this weekend was one of the biggest we’ve seen, due mainly to MotorEx’s 10th anniversary being celebrated. The show had everything automotive including muscle cars, hot rods, customs and classics through to modern show cars, euro exotics, and JDM tuners. For the lovers of two wheels there was also a custom bike section.

This years show was definitely one of the best, with previous champions of the show being invited back to compete in the “Champions From the Decade” division. This meant not only did we get to see the latest and greatest cars of today, but also those we drooled over in the past.

One of our favourites from the show was Mario and Andy’s Cadillac, “WILD CAD”. We’ve heard of the progress on this car now for a good few years, so to finally see the finished product, and knowing the amount off work gone into it was a pleasure. The car looked insane, with its chopped roof, sitting low and with remotely controlled doors, bonnet and boot. The cars fade paint job was done by the legendary custom car builder, Gene Winfield and it looks a million bucks. I personally stood there in awe, watching the colour change in the light and noticing the subtle fades. This is the first and last time the car will be shown in Oz before it ships off to SEMA.

LEXUS IS200 SHARPIE

- Article by Jason Hanif. Photography by MJ Digital.

Recently, THE-LOWDOWN.com were invited to get exclusively hands on with Australia’s first ‘Sharpie’. Whilst this trend has been quite big internationally, we’re yet to see it hit our shores here in the land down under.

The car has been built by Hookitup.co, a group known for constantly embracing new trends and pushing the envelope with them in Australia. After months at the drawing board the IS200′s panels were prepped and coated in House Of Kolor ‘Galaxy Grey’. As well as that the car now rolls on wide BuddyClub P1′s all ’round, sprayed in their signature hue of blue.

Below we have progress photos of the build. We’ve been asked not to show exactly how it was executed at the moment, but judgement has to be reserved until you see this car in the metal. As for us, we give the Hookitup.co crew big props for trying it out here. Given time we may just see this in the mainstream on more of our local cars.
